When I applied at UMT for BS Industrial Engineering but due to financial crisis I was not able to pay my fees. That time the Qarz-e-hasna need based scholarship by ILM Fund allowed me to continue my studies without any fear of fees submission in each semester. After completion of my degree from UMT I got job in a steel manufacturing and fabrication industry. ILM Fund helped me to build a progressive career not only with the need based scholarship but with distinguished faculty, guidance and advanced techniques.
I would have never imagined a life without a great mission of transforming my family and contribute positively to the society if I had not been awarded financial assistance at UMT by ILM Fund. I owe this gratitude to ILM Fund for providing me excellent higher education opportunity.
Although an academically accomplished student, Laiba’s educational journey faced various blockades due to her family’s financial constraints. She had to quit studies for two years after her FSc in 2018 and stared at another uncertain phase in her education in only her second year at UMT in 2021. Laiba’s silver lining came in the form of ILM Fund. She was allowed the opportunity to continue her education thanks to a fully-funded scholarship through the ILM Fund. She has since proved her mettle with several awards, including the Rector’s Merit Award and the Dean’s Merit Award.
Imaan is an outstanding student who excelled in both her Matriculation and Intermediate exams. However, her family was in no position to afford her education in a private sector university. Determined to get enrolled at UMT, she applied for a scholarship through the ILM Fund. Imaan was awarded the scholarship in consideration of her excellent academic and extracurricular performance over her student life. She has since been making her mark in both academic and co-curricular activities at UMT, without worrying about fees and other expenditure.
Kashana Sher is a true champion hailing from the beautiful Hunza. She has broken through various social barriers in her quest to attain education and pursue boxing as a sport. Considering her passion for becoming a role model for girls of her area and Pakistan, Kashana was awarded a 100% Sportsmen and Extracurricular Scholarship to study at UMT. She has been representing the varsity at various national competitions and brought several laurels to UMT, including the Bronze medal in HEC Intervarsity Boxing Women Championships 2022.
Farzeen had always wanted to attain higher education to make a name for herself, but was held back by her family’s financial misfortune. Her father works as an electrician and found it very hard to support Farzeen once she began her undergraduate studies. Her silver lining came in the form of ILM Fund. After considering her case, the fund granted her scholarship to cover her educational expense. Farzeen also took up a job to further ease the burden on her father and contribute to the family’s income. Her determination and will is certainly an inspiration for others.
Ali always wanted to support his father, a retired army officer, in providing a decent living for a family of 12 people. He believed education to be the means to attain his goal, but his family’s financial situation forced him to quit studies several times. It was the same fate he faced when he joined UMT, as financial hardships put him in a situation of quitting studies for good. It was then he got to know about the ILM Fund, which granted him a scholarship to continue his studies at UMT. The rest, as they say, is history. Ali is now focusing on his studies and looking to play a part in Pakistan’s digital revolution.
