Noor Aslam’s journey reflects the power of Education and resilience. Born in South Waziristan, he lost his mother at age one and grew up in Lakki Marwat in a farming family. Determined to break the cycle of illiteracy, Noor pursued education with the help of scholarships, earning two degrees from UMT. The university not only provided financial aid but also vital academic and professional support. His dedication led to advanced studies at the University of Peshawar and a successful career at Saudi Aramco, where he serves as Senior Contract Advisor. Today, Noor is a proud father, inspiring his children’s educational pursuits.

Addul Ghaffar’s

Abdul Ghaffar’s journey from poverty to a leading role in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) reflects the power of education and perseverance. Raised in Village Ladhana, District Layyah, his father struggled as a carpenter to support six children. Abdul, the only one to receive formal education, secured a 100% need-based scholarship from UMT, enabling him to complete an MS in Computer Science (1998–2000). His academic excellence led to a successful career, and for the past 12 years, he has served as Deputy Director of Cyber Crime at FIA. Abdul’s story highlights how education transforms lives and strengthens communities.

Uzma Gillani’s

Communications Director

Uzma Gillani’s journey is a story of resilience and strength. After moving to Lahore in 1998, she worked in a factory alongside her father to support their family. In 2005, her husband abandoned her, leaving her homeless with a three-month-old child. Despite facing extreme hardships, Uzma pursued her studies privately and eventually earned an MBA from UMT. Through determination, she rebuilt her life, becoming a social worker, influencer, and renowned YouTuber. Known as “Strong Uzma,” she inspires thousands with her story of courage and perseverance. From sleeping on the streets to becoming a voice of hope, Uzma proves that strength can overcome any obstacle.

Khalid Mehmood Tamgha-e-Imtiaz

Communications Director

Khalid Mahmood’s life is a testament to resilience and determination. Diagnosed with typhoid as a child, he was left with lifelong lower limb paralysis, yet refused to be defined by it. Excelling academically, he earned a gold medal in English Linguistics, an M.Phil. from UMT, and now pursues a PhD. Inspired by his father’s military legacy, Khalid made history as Pakistan’s first differently abled member of the armed forces, serving as an Inspector in the Pakistan Rangers. Honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, his story reflects courage, service, and academic excellence, inspiring countless others to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams with unwavering resolve.

Noor Fatima Rashid’s journey reflects dedication, leadership, and social impact. A UMT graduate in Applied Psychology and recipient of a 100% sports scholarship for chess, she excelled academically, earning a gold medal and later becoming an Academic Advisor at Superior University. Recognized with the Presidential Pride of Pakistan award, she has championed women’s rights and child abuse awareness through her organization Quwat e Uraan, positively impacting over 50,000 parents and children while facilitating Education for underprivileged girls. Honored with the Diana Award and the Haramay Heroes Award, Noor continues to balance her family life with her commitment to Education, empowerment, and social welfare

Khalid Khan

Bachelors in Law Loralai, Balochistan Province

Loralai, also known as Bori, is a Pakistani city that serves both as the division headquarter of Loralai Division and the district headquarter of Loralai District. It is located in the northeastern part of Balochistan province of Pakistan. Khalid Khan, from Loralai, Balochistan, comes from a family where education is deeply valued despite limited financial means. His father, a retired BPS-16 government employee since 2018, supports a household of 11 members solely through a monthly pension of PKR 65,000. While three of Khalid’s siblings are married, the rest are still pursuing their education, leaving the family entirely dependent on this modest income. Living in a house rented at PKR 30,000 a month, Khalid’s story is one of quiet resilience and shared sacrifice—a testament to how determination and the right support can sustain educational dreams.

Mazahir Hussain

Bachelors in Software Engineering Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan

Mazahir Hussain, a Software Engineering student from Skardu, Gilgit-Baltistan, is the son of legendary mountaineer Ali Sadpara. While his father scaled mountains, Mazahir is committed to rising through education and hard work. He joined UMT in 2021, and recognizing both his background and potential, the ILM Fund Scholarship awarded him 90% financial support, removing a major barrier to his academic journey. Now in his 8th and final semester, Mazahir has faced challenges but remained determined, maintaining a CGPA of 2.90.The support from UMT and ILM Fund has been pivotal, enabling him to build a future rooted in learning, skills, and perseverance. Mazahir’s journey is more than personal success—it inspires students from remote regions like Skardu to believe in what’s possible with the right support and determination.

Nimra

Bachelors in International Relations Gwadar. South-Western Balochistan

Hailing from a hardworking family of seven in Gwadar; a port city on the southwestern coast of the Pakistani province of Balochistan, Nimra has shown consistent academic strength and resiliencе. With a father supporting the household through a small shop and additional work as a Fish Broker who earns around PKR 40,000 a month and two of her siblings in college while the other two in school, higher education was a challenge but not out of reach. After excelling in her matriculation and intermediate studies, she is now in the final year of BS International Relations at the University of Management and Technology, Lahore. The Remote Area Scholarship played a key role in making this journey possible, easing the financial burden and allowing her to focus fully on her studies. Her story reflects what’s possible when talent meets opportunity.

Luqman Khan

Bachelors in Computer Science Timergara Tehsil, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Coming from a rural farming family with very limited and uncertain income from Timergarah, Luqman’s path to higher education has been far from easy. Timergara is an administrative subdivision (Tehsil) of Lower Dir District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. From a family of five with the father working at a small piece of land, which includes their house as well, and two brothers earning daily wages as laborers earning around PKR 30,000 a month yet household income remains irregular – let alone affording the high costs of a university education. Despite these challenges, the student is now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science – a field with significant academic demands and expenses. The Remote Area Scholarship has been a crucial lifeline, making it possible to continue studies without placing further financial strain on the family. His journey powerfully reminds us that while talent can be found everywhere, opportunity must be as well.

Deedag Baloch

Bachelors in Computer Science Gwadar. South-Western Balochistan

Raised in Gwadar, Deedag comes from a humble background where the family’s primary income depends on the sea. His father, а fisherman, earns around PKR 3,000 a day, though this amount often varies due to weather conditions and unpredictable catches. Financial stability has always been uncertain. Pursuing higher education under such circumstances has been challenging – especially maintaining a good academic result, given the academic adjustment required after schooling in a remote area. Yet, through consistent effort and determination, he has continued to move forward. His younger sister studies at a government school, where access to quality resources remains limited – something he hopes to change for others in the future. His story reflects the quiet strength of students who rise above their environment to create opportunity not just for themselves, but for their communities.
