Noor Aslam’s journey reflects the power of Education and resilience. Born in South
Waziristan, he lost his mother at age one and grew up in Lakki Marwat in a farming family.
Determined to break the cycle of illiteracy, Noor pursued education with the help of
scholarships, earning two degrees from UMT. The university not only provided financial aid
but also vital academic and professional support. His dedication led to advanced studies
at the University of Peshawar and a successful career at Saudi Aramco, where he serves as
Senior Contract Advisor. Today, Noor is a proud father, inspiring his children’s educational
pursuits.
Abdul Ghaffar’s journey from poverty to a leading role in the Federal Investigation Agency
(FIA) reflects the power of education and perseverance. Raised in Village Ladhana, District
Layyah, his father struggled as a carpenter to support six children. Abdul, the only one to
receive formal education, secured a 100% need-based scholarship from UMT, enabling
him to complete an MS in Computer Science (1998–2000). His academic excellence led to
a successful career, and for the past 12 years, he has served as Deputy Director of Cyber
Crime at FIA. Abdul’s story highlights how education transforms lives and strengthens
communities.
Uzma Gillani’s journey is a story of resilience and strength. After moving to Lahore in 1998,
she worked in a factory alongside her father to support their family. In 2005, her husband
abandoned her, leaving her homeless with a three-month-old child. Despite facing extreme
hardships, Uzma pursued her studies privately and eventually earned an MBA from UMT.
Through determination, she rebuilt her life, becoming a social worker, influencer, and
renowned YouTuber. Known as “Strong Uzma,” she inspires thousands with her story of
courage and perseverance. From sleeping on the streets to becoming a voice of hope,
Uzma proves that strength can overcome any obstacle.
Khalid Mahmood’s life is a testament to resilience and determination. Diagnosed with
typhoid as a child, he was left with lifelong lower limb paralysis, yet refused to be defined
by it. Excelling academically, he earned a gold medal in English Linguistics, an M.Phil. from
UMT, and now pursues a PhD. Inspired by his father’s military legacy, Khalid made history
as Pakistan’s first differently abled member of the armed forces, serving as an Inspector in
the Pakistan Rangers. Honored with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, his story reflects courage,
service, and academic excellence, inspiring countless others to overcome challenges and
pursue their dreams with unwavering resolve.
Noor Fatima Rashid’s journey reflects dedication, leadership, and social impact. A UMT
graduate in Applied Psychology and recipient of a 100% sports scholarship for chess, she
excelled academically, earning a gold medal and later becoming an Academic Advisor at
Superior University. Recognized with the Presidential Pride of Pakistan award, she has
championed women’s rights and child abuse awareness through her organization Quwat e
Uraan, positively impacting over 50,000 parents and children while facilitating Education
for underprivileged girls. Honored with the Diana Award and the Haramay Heroes Award,
Noor continues to balance her family life with her commitment to Education,
empowerment, and social welfare
